New Infrastructure & Area Upgrades
The project will provide the following features and benefits for area residents, pedestrians and commuters:


Klondike Road will be widened to two driving lanes and a dedicated, two-way left-turn lane plus new roundabouts at Klondike’s intersections with Lindberg Road and Cumberland Avenue for improved traffic flow and safety


A five-foot sidewalk and ten-foot multi-use path will be added along the east and west sides of the street, respectively, for improved pedestrian safety and recreational opportunities


Two drainage structures—one near Klondike Elementary School and one near Venetian Blind—will be replaced for enhanced stormwater capture

Project Phases & Road Closures

Klondike Road from St.Rd. 26 to Rutherford Drive is opened to traffic.
Klondike Road from North of Rutherford Drive to south of Cumberland avenue is closed and under construction and is scheduled to open Summer 2020.

Klondike Road from Cumberland Avenue to Snowdrop Drive.
The intersection of Klondike Road and Cumberland Avenue will close on February 7, 2020 to construct a roundabout and expanded roadway.

Klondike Road Snowdrop Lane to US-52/231.
Two-way traffic will be allowed on Klondike Road from Cumberland Avenue to Venetian Blind and From US-52/231 to Klondike School/Midwest Rentals. The road will be closed from Venetian Blinds to Midwest Rentals.
Construction is scheduled to begin the Summer of 2020 and completed in November 2020
The project is intended to be completed November 2020.
